Hoedown - in the present when dancers strive to dance more complicatedly, using various special effects and props, Dvorana picked up a dance style called HOEDOWN. It comes from the Appalachian region which is known as the cradle of American clogging. Hoedown originated as a dance form which enabled the dancers to enjoy dancing together lead by the caller and at the same time clog. At the time when hoedown emerged, people did not have time to rehearse any dance choreographies. Therefore, they managed with each other dancing as they liked and together responded to the caller’s prompts. In most cases the caller was dancing himself/herself with the others and called dance figures which came to his/her mind during the dance. Dvorana learnt how to dance a real hoedown in the USA and included it in their repertory. A special attention should be paid to the style of clogging in the hoedown which somewhat differs from the forms known in the Czech Republic. |

Cotton Eyed Joea dance which reflects the present situation in the US dance world. Its more modern conception somewhat leaves our traditionalist line. It includes more modern dance figures and combinations with the so-called buck dancing. This dance can be performed by a random number of couples since they do not form any choreography together. Performance duration 2:30 |

Country dance lectures for the public – the performance of our ensemble can be accompanied by country dance lectures for the audience. It is a very nice entertainment since the audience do not have to learn any special dance steps. It is danced in circles, lines or quadrilles. Please note that in case of lectures, a sufficient dance space is necessary. |
