Irish hard shoe - a demonstration of Irish set dancing. Irish dances are not limited only to ceili and tap dances. It is mostly the dance form called “set dance”. Set dance is a type of dance representing one of the cornerstones of American quadrilles. Eight dancers dance together in a quadrille doing simple dance figures while stamping out the rhythm. The choreography nicely pictures the simplicity and joy of the Irish folk dance. This demonstration represents the third figure from The Newport Set.
